I didn't realize there wasn't a Series 70 Commander. Sorry for all the questions, but I just found this place yesterday and now I have a burning desire to know the life story of my babies. Both are all original (except for the grips on the Commander), and both are in Good to Excellent shape, especially considering their age. I noticed at Proofhouse that the serial number list for the Commander ended at 1978, but I have noticed on other sights that (if I am remembering correctly) that the Series 70 ran until 1983, and have seen other Commanders on here from much later years. Am I reading that right? Also, my Commander has an F and a V on the triggerguard, one on each side. If I read the charts at Proofhouse right, the Commander was made in 1978, and the Government model in 1918.
